To start, Stone Ward researched the motivations of consumers to purchase items that can reduce energy consumption. Our goal was to raise awareness of the Energy Efficiency Makeover Contest, to drive engagement to the contest website and educate consumers on energy efficient practices through traditional channels, public relations efforts and social media outreach.
The contest launched on May 1 and will continue through July 15. A winner from each of the 17 cooperatives will be selected to receive an ultra-efficient GE GeoSpring hybrid water heater valued at $1,000, and from the top finalists, a grand prize winner will be determined. The grand prize winner will receive an energy efficiency makeover valued at up to $50,000.
For the contest, Stone Ward created a new logo, application, how-to video for contest application, print advertising, collateral pieces, radio spots, online banners, Facebook page and revised the Energy Efficiency Makeover section of ECA’s website.
This spring, Electric Cooperatives of Arkansas (ECA) challenged Stone Ward to create a new campaign design for its long-standing Energy Efficiency Makeover Contest. Since its inception five years ago, ECA has used the contest to educate its more than 500,000 members on energy efficiency practices. This year, ECA wanted a fresh look in addition to developing a new media strategy to increase awareness about the contest.
The contest has only just begun, but Stone Ward is already seeing a steady increase in the number of daily entries. We are proud to partner with ECA and look forward to making one lucky Arkansan a very happy homeowner for many years to come!
