Merial’s Steve Vandeberg Named Marketer of the Year
Sullivan Higdon & Sink (SHS), a communications agency with extensive experience in food value chain marketing took home several awards at this year’s National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA) Awards.
SHS won a first-place award for its point-of-purchase packaging materials for Cal-Ann Farms. The agency also took home two awards for its work with Merial, a world-leading, innovation-driven animal health company. SHS earned a first-place award for creative work in the brochure category, as well as an award of Merit for an integrated advertising campaign about equine drugs.
Additionally, NAMA named Steve Vandeberg, director of endectocide marketing for Merial, Marketer of the Year. Vandeberg’s work in parasiticides pioneered a golden era for the cattle industry; he developed the launch campaign for IVOMEC® (ivermectin), creating the cattle endectocide category. In November 2012, he helped launch LONGRANGETM (eprinomectin), an innovative product for parasite control in cattle and the first in its category of extended-release dewormers.
“It was a competitive awards season for agricultural marketing and SHS is excited and humbled to take home some hardware,”says Rand Mikulecky, managing partner, SHS.
“All of us at SHS congratulate Steve on being named NAMA’s Marketer of the Year,” continued Mikulecky. “It’s a deserving and fitting tribute to his contributions to the industry, and we’re fortunate to count him as one of our valued clients.”
