SAN FRANCISCO, Mar 28, 2013 (BUSINESS WIRE) — Swinging for the fences and connecting for a Grand Slam, Hoffman|Lewis, the SF-based-independent creative-driven ad agency, has just wrapped a series of commercial spots for Toyota that will air regionally in Northern California. The :30 second spots feature Buster Posey, the star catcher for the World Champion San Francisco Giants and the reigning National League MVP.
Sporting his full catcher’s uniform, the mild-mannered and affable Posey is seen inside a local Toyota dealership interacting with customers, a young fan and dealership personnel in a series of fun, baseball-themed vignettes. The ads focus on the Camry and Prius models, and the all-new RAV4. Cameos by Giants’ mascot Lou Seal and a ballpark organist add to America’s favorite pastime spirit.
“In seeking a way to break through the clutter and reinforce Toyota’s position as the number one auto brand in the market, we looked no further than Buster. His popularity is rising every day and his character traits exemplify the type of dedication to quality and dependability on which Toyota prides itself,” said Trey Curtola, SVP, Hoffman|Lewis.
The spots, which are part of a multi-year, multi-million dollar ad spend, begin airing locally on March 28. The Hoffman|Lewis Executive Creative Director on the campaign is seasoned industry veteran Rob Bagot.
“Adding Buster to our lineup is an excellent way to promote Toyota, and we couldn’t be more excited about this long term partnership,” said Henry Hansel, President of the Northern California Toyota Dealers’ Ad Association.
