The Dalton Agency, a national advertising and public relations firm today announced the appointment of Bill Coontz as president of its Atlanta office. He will lead the management team in Atlanta and serve as a member of the company’s operating committee.
Coontz, whose first day will be October 2, comes to Atlanta from Minneapolis, where he has served as president and partner at Kruskopf Coontz Advertising, a multi-million dollar advertising and marketing firm. During his twelve-year tenure at Kruskopf Coontz Advertising he successfully secured and managed several Fortune 500 companies including United Healthcare, Optum, 3M, Cargill and Ameriprise. In 2011, Coontz served as president, and then chairman of the global independent agency network known as the Advertising Marketing International Network (AMIN). His AMIN leadership was marked by the development and strategic integration of AMIN North America with AMIN Europe, forming AMIN Worldwide. As a result Coontz was elected Global Chairman of AMIN in 2011, and expanded the organization to include the Americas and Asia.

This appointment comes approximately eighteen months after the Dalton Agency’s introduction into the Atlanta market after merging with the former Kilgannon agency in early 2012. The agency’s second expansion in Atlanta came with the acquisition of Ant Hill Communications in the spring of 2013.
